Computer Training Success

If your school has computers, do you think it helps the students learn, or do you think it hurts their ability to write in traditional forms (and with brainstorming, etc.)? Why? Did your school train you to use computers with your students? Do you have certain assignments to help students learn how to analyze websites for credibility? What textbooks or suggested exercises would you like to have available to you in order to teach your students more about the world wide web?
