Where can I get free training for Microsoft Office?

I see a lot of jobs asking for experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, etc…I don’t have these programs installed on my computer, nor do I have them on disk. Can I get training for them online?

And how will this boost my job search? (Why are these programs used, what are they used for?)
